🌱 Catalytic Converter Thieves Sought + Sagamore Teachers Run 5K

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, friends! It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in town these days. In this issue, we'll touch on...

  • Suffolk Police ask the public for help to identify three suspects who stole a catalytic converter in Holtsville last month.
  • Sagamore Middle School teachers participate in Tunnel to Towers 5K.
  • Check out five new homes for sale in the Town of Brookhaven.

But first, today's weather:

Breezy in the afternoon. High: 75 low: 46.

Here are the top three stories in Sachem today:

  1. Sagamore Middle School teachers participated in Tunnel to Towers 5K. The group of 10 teachers raised over $6,000 ahead of the event that honored U.S military members and first responders. See a photo of the teachers at the 5K in the link! (Press Release Desk)
  2. Check out five new homes for sale in the Town of Brookhaven. Housing prices have finally dipped on Long Island, giving sellers a little bit less of an advantage than they had the past year plus. Click the photo of the home in the link to learn more about the listing. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Suffolk Police ask the public for help to identify three suspects who stole a catalytic converter in Holtsville last month. The theft took place on Gazebo Lane on Sept. 15 just after 5 a.m., with three suspects using a hydraulic lift and cutting tools to steal the catalytic converter from a Honda Accord. There is a video of the theft in the link and if you can, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS with any information. (Sachem Patch)

Patch deal of the day:

Wine lover alert. We found this amazing deal from Splash Wines — an 18-bottle curated selection of reds and whites for fall — for just $69.99. Shipping isn't cheap at $39.95, but that still comes out to just over $6 per bottle. Splash Wines has a money-back guarantee if you don't like the wine and 4.6 out of 5 rating on TrustPilot. So: recommended.
