Elderly Man Killed In Selden Crash: Cops
Police have identified the man killed in the crash Saturday morning.
SELDEN, NY — An elderly man was killed in a Selden crash early Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police detectives, Furman Pearsall, 78, of Selden, was driving a 2015 Mercedes westbound on Middle Country Road at 5:20 a.m. when his vehicle collided with a 1992 Mazda, driven by Ronald Caputo, 85, of Selden, that was traveling southbound on Boyle Road.
Caputo was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Pearsall was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No charges were filed.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
