Man Arrested After Robbing Suffolk County Gas Station: Police

He also stole money from stores in Holbrook and Farmingville, police say. Two passengers in his car also arrested on unrelated charges.

A Farmingville man faces numerous charges after he was arrested following a robbery at an Islandia gas station Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, 28-year-old Justin Sheridan entered USA Gasoline, located at 1111 Old Nichols Road, on around 1 p.m. Tuesday and pretended he was going to make a purchase.

When the attendant opened the register drawer, Sheridan pushed him and stole cash, police said. Sheridan then fled in a 1999 Buick and a description of the suspect and vehicle was broadcast over the police radio, police said.

Officers from the Firearms Suppression Team (FAST) observed the vehicle at about 4 p.m. in Farmingville and initiated a short pursuit, taking Sheridan into custody at the intersection of Blue Point Road and Long Island Avenue in Holtsville, police said.

Sheridan was charged wth third degree robbery, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and reckless driving.

Sheridan was also charged with two counts of petty larceny for stealing money from Gulf Gas, located at 5106 Express Drive South in Holbrook, on June 16 and 7-Eleven, located at 710 Horseblock Road in Farmingville, on June 8, police said. During both incidents, Sheridan reached over the counter and stole cash from the register drawer, police said.

Sheridan had two passengers in his vehicle at the time of his arrest and they were both arrested on unrelated charges, police said.

Leslie Harris, 44, of Coram, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, second degree criminal impersonation, first degree filing a false instrument, petty larceny for an incident in November 2015 and a bench warrant.

Jasmine Anello, 21, of Farmingville, was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Sheridan was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday. Harris will be arraigned on Thursday. Anello was issued a desk appearance ticket and will be arraigned at a later date.
