Fundraiser Started For Sachem Alum Seriously Hurt in Crash
Michael Negron was ejected from his SUV in accident Wednesday afternoon.

An online fundraiser has been started for a Sachem alum who was seriously injured in a car accident in Centereach on Wednesday.
The GoFundMe page seeks to raise $5,000 for the family of Michael Negron, who was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer north on Nicolls Road when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and stuck a guardrail at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. The SUV then entered the median and overturned in the southbound lane, ejecting the 35-year-old from the vehicle, police said.
Negron, a Holtsville native who currently lives in Bellport, is listed in serious condition at Stony Brook University Hospital. According to the GoFundMe page, Negron is the sole provider for his family and faces an “extremely long road to recovery” with extensive injuries to his brain and left lung, as well as a broken back and neck.
