FARMINGVILLE, NY — Newly-elected Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle was sworn into his post Wednesday.

LaValle, a Republican, resigned his seat on the Town Council to take up the seat, which oversees all of the town's vital records.

Supervisor Ed Romaine is expected to set a date for a special election within 60 to 90 days of the vacancy, a Brookhaven Town spokesman said.
