- After threatening to kill U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino, a Long Island man has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and agreed to take anger management training. 64-year-old Lake Ronkonkoma resident Kenneth Gasper was originally charged with second-degree aggravated harassment in November. Nassau County police Special Investigations Section Detectives said back in November that Gasper threatened Garbarino with death "over the telephone" related to "a recent congressional vote" that he did not agree with. - The Sachem High School North Interact Club participated in the International Coastal Clean with Keep Islip Clean this past year. Students cleaned up and documented all trash collected in an effort to compile data for researchers to better understand what is polluting the earth's waterways. (Press Release Desk)
- The Gabby Petito Foundation is planning to hold a golf outing fundraiser on April 3 at Top Golf in Holtsville. The outing will run from 1 to 4 p.m. and will feature a buffet, as well as wine and beer. Joseph Petito, the father of Gabby, announced the event to his Twitter followers on Thursday, saying the event will honor her. (Sachem Patch)
