LIRR Delays, Cancellations Plague Morning Commute; 1 Train Stranded For 2 Hours
BREAKING: Is this even breaking news anymore?

The "Summer of Hell" on the Long Island Rail Road isn't supposed to begin until July 10, but it's a nightmarish morning commute for many Thursday.
A "track condition" outside Amtrak's East River tunnels has led to delays and cancellations into Penn Station, the LIRR says.
One LIRR train became stranded on the tracks for two hours and passengers needed to be "rescued" and transferred to another train, NBC 4 reported.

Amtrak personnel are on scene. Some trains are being diverted to Hunterspoint Avenue or Atlantic Terminal. Allow extra travel time, the LIRR advises.
NYC Transit is honoring LIRR tickets on the E subway at Jamaica (Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av), Kew Gardens (Union Tpke), & Forest Hills (71st Av), at Atlantic Terminal on the 2/3 subway, and on the 7 subway at Woodside (61st St), and Hunterspoint Ave.

90 minutes have gone by and no movement on this train and no sign of a rescue train. Help us.

At the pace this #LIRR train is going, I'm getting to Penn Station after the July 4 holiday weekend.
