Last week Merrimac Elementary School hosted a breast cancer awareness fundraiser and raised more than $1,350 to donate to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, according to building principal Veronica DeCicco. One Merrimac parent – Mrs. Poltie – donated her time and over 100 pink hair extensions to support the cause.
