Multiple Fire Departments Battle Lake Ronkonkoma Fire

Lake Ronkonkoma house burns in early morning fire.

In the early morning hours of Monday September 29th local volunteer firefighters went to work to battle a blaze in the Lake Ronokonkoma community. According to officials the call came in at about 12:40 am for a report of a house fire. The Lakeland Fire Department was the first department to be dispatched to the scene at 4523 Expressway Dr North. On arrival they advised they had heavy fire showing and requested assistance from neighboring departments.

Firefighters from 6 neighboring departments responded to the scene to assist their brothers and battled the fire for a few hours before bringing it under control and being dismissed. According to police during this time a portion of Expressway Drive was closed to vehicles. The cause of this incident was under investigation by the arson squad.
