Out Of Control Humvee Injures 4 At Long Island Bacon Fest
A woman was seriously injured in the accident Saturday evening.

FARMINGVILLE, NY – Four people were injured, including a woman who was seriously hurt, in a freak accident at the Long Island Bacon Bach Saturday afternoon.
According to police, an unoccupied United States Army Reserve Humvee that was parked on an incline at the Bacon Bash at the Pennysaver Amphitheater came out of gear and rolled approximately 30 feet and struck Suzette Lamonica, pinning her between the vehicle and a food trailer.
Lamonica, 46, of Brookhaven, was transported by the Farmingville Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was admitted for treatment of serious leg and arm injuries.

Richard Gherardi, 30, of East Hampton, who was inside the trailer struck by the Humvee, was burned by cooking oil and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.
Two other women suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

The Humvee was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
