UPDATE: Suffolk Police ID Woman Struck In Selden

A 911 call came in about a car striking a pedestrian on Middle Country Road at about 8:43 a.m., police said.

UPDATE: Suffolk police said Anthony Lepore was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado northbound on College Road and he made a left turn onto Middle Country Road where it struck Linda Evangelista who was crossing Middle County Road in the crosswalk.

Evangelista, 67, of Selden, was seriously injured and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Selden Fire Rescue, police said, adding, that thirty-seven-year-old Lepore, who is homeless, was not injured.

Lepore's vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the 6th Squad at 631-854-8652.

SELDEN, NY — A portion of Middle Country Road in Selden was closed down Sunday from just before 9 a.m. as Suffolk police investigated a crash involving a pedestrian.

Police said they received a 911 call that a pedestrian was struck in front of College Plaza at about 8:43 a.m. and the roadway is now closed between College and Boyle roads. No further details were released.
