Police ID Driver in Lake Ronkonkoma DWI Crash
Two people were seriously hurt in crash early Saturday morning.

Update: Police have identified the driver as 24-year-old William Gomez, of Ronkonkoma
Two people were seriously injured, including a man charged with DWI, in a crash in Lake Ronkonkoma Saturday morning, police said.

The accident occurred on Hawkins Avenue at 4:09 a.m. when a Jeep Cherokee occupied by two men struck a tree, police said.
Both men were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver was charged with DWI.

Police did not identify either man. Fourth Squad detectives are continuing to investigate.
