Police: Armed Man Attempts to Rob Centereach White Castle
Incident comes a day after KFC nearby was robbed by two men.
A man displayed what appeared to be a black handgun in his waistband during an attempted robbery of a Centereach White Castle restaurant Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the man entered the restaurant at 2201 Middle County Road at about 2:25 p.m. He demanded money from an employee, but the employee ran away from the counter, police said. The man then fled the story empty-handed, police said.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues. On Friday night, a KFC restaurant just down the road from the White Castle was robbed at gunpoint.
