Police: Holtsville Woman Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash

A 22-year-old Holtsville woman was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in Middle Island early Thursday, police said. 

Lisa Andronica was walking southbound on Wilson Avenue when she was struck by a box truck traveling southbound on Wilson Avenue at 3:10 a.m., police said.

The vehicle, which was described as dark-colored, fled the scene, police said. 

Andronica was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, police said.
