Police: Man Robs Lake Ronkonkoma TD Bank, Caught a Half Hour Later

Ronkonkoma man charged with robbing the same bank twice.

The Lake Ronkonkoma TD Bank was robbed Tuesday afternoon, but the robber didn't make it very far, police said.

Police said Daniel Charbonnier, 46, of Ronkonkoma, entered the bank, located at 474 Portion Road, at approximately 2:25 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller while indicating that he had a gun.

The teller complied and Charbonnier then fled on foot westbound on Portion Road, police said. Witnesses in the area pointed out Charbonnier to responding officers who subsequently placed him into custody at approximately 3 p.m., police said.
