Rose Brucia Tabs CNBC's Sue Herera as National Spokesperson
Educational foundation continues to make news with big names.

With three young children herself, Sue Herera knows the importance of keeping children safe. It was a perfect match when The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation recently named the CNBC co-anchor its national spokesperson.
A prominent presence on the cable business channel since 1989, Herera will represent the foundation as a child advocate to help raise awareness for abduction prevention and stranger safety.
“One of the things I always worry about is my children’s safety and, of course, making them aware of the danger of strangers,” she said in a phone interview last week. “I feel this is a perfect fit. Our children are our future; they are our most precious resources. They need to grow and be productive members of society. I was absolutely thrilled when I was asked to be a part of this foundation.”

Herera is one of the first women to break into broadcast business news, earning her the nickname “The First Lady of Wall Street.” She is the co-anchor of “Power Lunch,” and as a founding member of CNBC, she helped launch the network in 1989. Prior to joining CNBC, Herera was an anchor and reporter with Financial News Network.
In 1997, Herera, who studied journalism at California State University at Northridge, published her first book, Women of the Street: Making It On Wall Street -- The World's Toughest Business, an up-close look at some of the most powerful and influential women on Wall Street.

“We are very excited to have such a powerful and influential person like Sue Herera serve as our national spokesperson,” said Matthew J. Barbis, founder and chairman of The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation. “Sue is the quintessential spokesperson for our foundation, combining her skills as a seasoned news professional with her compassion as a mother to face the most meaningful of missions … abduction prevention and education through stranger safety awareness.”
Herera will be producing public service announcements for the foundation, and appearing at various functions in the coming months.
“I have actively been involved in trying to make the world a better place for kids through education and outreach,” she said. “I think this is a great partnership between myself, CNBC and Rose Brucia. The goal is to keep every child in this country safe and give them the tools to do that.”
