Sachem Alliance Win Eastern New York Premier League Championship

The Sachem Alliance won the Girls U17/18 Eastern New York Premier League championship, beating the Kingston Warriors, 1-0, in the finals at the new Owl Hallow Soccer Fields in Staten Island.

 

Emily Sopko scored the only goal for Sachem in the first half on a beautiful right-footed volley. Goalie Amanda Fitzgerald and the defense kept the opponents at bay all game, earning the shutout in the title game.

The Alliance advanced to the finals by beating Guilderland United FC Intensity 3-0. Caeley McCormick lead the team with two goals in that victory, one off a direct kick from 30 yards out.

Capping off a Terrific Season

Sachem finished with 6 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss during the regular season – first place in the ENY Premier League – by beating teams from all over the region.

Members of the championship team include: Kelly Abrams, Nicole Alefeld, Nijay Brown, Mikayla Canales, Gabrielle Domenech, Hannah Dougherty, Amanda Fitzgerald, Alexandra Giambanco, Serena Guccione, Lauren LoMonaco, Michaela Maertz, Mallory Marrone, Caeley McCormick, Makayla Meeker, AnnaMaria Merante, Mackenzie Roberts, and Emily Sopko.

The Alliance was coached and trained by Alan Dougherty and Brian Emans of Impact Soccer.
