- Air quality advisory issued for Long Island Wednesday. Temperatures will rise into the mid 90s and the heat index will be near 100 degrees in many areas during the day. Today's air is listed as unhealthy for sensitive groups and the advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Patch)
- Man, fatally stabbed inside Coram home Tuesday. "Anthony Smith, 64, stabbed his acquaintance, Jon Hall, 55, of Coram, inside their residence on Carr Lane during a fight around 4:55 a.m., police said." The man was pronounced dead at the scene and Smith was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. (Patch)
