Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

1. Air quality alert issued for all of Long Island Wednesday. Temperatures will reach 90 degrees, and the advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sensitive groups are at the highest risk and if you can't stay inside during these hours, make sure to stay hydrated at all times. (Patch)
2. Suffolk County will be recruiting firefighter and EMS this weekend. The recruitment event will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Suffolk County Fire Academy, at 102 East Ave. in Yaphank. "In Suffolk County, we are committed to ensuring that our volunteer fire and EMS agencies have the necessary resources to operate and protect our residents," Executive Steve Bellone said. "A key component of this includes recruitment. That is why our Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services continues to engage with our departments and communities to provide these important events."
3. ICYMI: Full buck moon to grace our skies Wednesday. It will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year, peaking at 2:39 p.m. The best viewing will be in the southeast sky right after 9 p.m. and the moon will be closest to Earth at 5:06 a.m. on Wednesday. (Patch)
