- Police searching for suspect who stole $2,000 from Lake Grove gas station in March. The burglar broke the window at Gulf Gas on Middle Country Rd. on March 5 and stole 20 packs of Newport cigarettes and $2,000 in cash. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Patch)
- Merrimac Elementary school hosts Battle of the Schools. The celebration honored the 10 Merrimac staff members who were part of the winning team. Battle of the Buildings is a competition that teachers throughout the district participate in to answer trivia questions and raise money for a scholarship for a senior from each high school. "As part of the celebration, the team was presented with the Sachem Cup by the PTA, and a parade was held in the school building where students cheered on the amazing team." (Facebook)
