🌱 Sachem Daily: Gabby Petito Fundraiser + Burglaries Unrelated
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Happy Friday, people of Sachem! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening around town today.
First, today's weather:
Increasingly windy. High: 54 low: 36.
Here are the top 4 stories in Sachem today:
- Gabby Petito Foundation to hold fundraiser Sunday at Topgolf in Holtsville. The outing starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 4 p.m. There will be a buffet, beer, wine, and raffles for guests. On Long Island. "We're just hoping for a great day with it," said Petito's stepfather, Jim Schmidt, a member of the foundation's board of directors, in an interview earlier this month. "We appreciate all the support from everybody, and the money, that's going to a good cause." (Sachem Patch)
- What's your response to a car parked in front of your house? Block Talk explores what to do. Most of us have an unwritten rule that the street parking in front of our homes is designated for us and us only, but that's not really the case. Patch asked readers what they thought about people parking in front of their houses and the responses were quite mixed. Check them out in the link. (Patch)
- Recent Ronkonkoma area burglaries unrelated to October burglaries. If you have been following Sachem Patch over the past year, you've seen how many burglaries of businesses we have reported on. In a recent report, police have said that the new string of burglaries over the past month are unrelated to the ones from October. "The investigations are ongoing, and nothing is being ruled out at this time," a spokeswoman wrote in an email Thursday.(Sachem Patch)
- 11-year-old student injured in fight at Sagamore Middle School. "The fight broke out between two boys at about 11 a.m. and the injured boy was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to police. The names of the students were not released because they are minors. No charges were filed, a spokeswoman said." (Sachem Patch)
