- ICYMI: Two women charged with selling illegal fireworks worth nearly $100,000. The incident took place at Smokes R Us in Mastic. Police conducted an investigation after numerous community complaints and found 250 cases of fireworks on the shelves. "The owner of the store, Danielle Treadwell, 47, of Mastic, and the store manager, Althea Hatcher, 56, of West Babylon, were arrested and charged with illegal storage of explosives, a felony under New York State labor law, as well as and unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks, police said."(Patch)
