- Ronkonkoma man charged with DWI in fatal hit-and-run Sunday morning. Wade Gagliano, 23, was driving a 2005 Lexus RX330 west on Johnson Avenue when he struck a female pedestrian. The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. and Gagliano left the scene and was apprehended a short time later. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her identity has not yet been released. (Sachem Patch)
- Man arrested for attacking 3 people with a machete at Patchogue Dick's Sporting Goods. Treyvius Tunstall, 22, of West Babylon, went into the store on Friday at 3:15 p.m. to buy a rifle. He went to the gun section, inquired about a rifle, walked away and went to another section of the store where he started attacking an uninvolved employee. Tunstall was charged with first-degree assault; two counts of second-degree assault; three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
