Hey, neighbors! I'm back with your fresh edition of the Sachem Daily. Let's get this Sunday started off right, with a quick dive into the most important things going on these days in town.

Here are the top stories today in Sachem:

  1. Weather for the work week brings much cooler temperatures. We hope you are getting through this heat wave and staying hydrated.   2. Check out New York's list of top baby names from 2021. Coming in at number one for boys was Liam and for girls Olivia had the top spot. Take a look at the top 10 list in the link! (Patch)
  3. Queens man arrested for raping teen in Hauppauge. The 30-year-old man met the 13-year-old girl on Snapchat and then planned to meet. They met on May 13 at the Smith Haven Mall where the man tried to have the girl and a friend get into his car, but they refused. He later met up with the teen at a playground in Hauppauge, where he raped her. Andrew Ramsaroop was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of a child. (Patch)
