🌱 Sachem Daily: Mental Health Meeting Today + 5 New Open Houses

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Good morning, neighbors! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunshine and breezy. High: 42 low: 17.

Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:

  1. 5 open houses for you to check out in the area. Take a look at five open houses that are happening in the coming days. We collaborate with Redfin weekly to make your home search just a little bit easier. The homes include one in the Islip area with 4 beds and 2 baths for $559,990, and another also in the Islip area with 1 bed and 1 bath for $190,000. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Mental health and substance abuse meeting will be held Thursday, March 3. The monthly Zoom meeting held by The Substance Use Disorders Subcommittee of the Community Mental Hygiene Advisory Board is scheduled for 2 p.m. today. In a time of substance abuse and mental health crisis in our area, if you want to get involved and help you can call 631-853-8500 to join the Zoom conference. (Press Release Desk)
  3. ICYMI: Habanero's Tex Mex may return for one day pop-up if demand is there. Who remembers Habanero's Tex Mex? They closed in 2018, but owner Brian Kiley is debating a one-night popup for loyal customers. "Well I have read all of your posts and private messages ….. it's truly amazing that after all this time I'm still missed," Kiley wrote. "I have a location in mind to possibly create a pop-up Habanero's night …. I'm willing to commit and put the work into a limited menu." The establishment announced its closure in 2018, with shock from the local community. (Patch)
