(Patch Media)

Hello all. It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in town.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and humid. High: 79 low: 62.

Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:

  1. A 62-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon on Long Island Expressway. Harry Weaves was speeding on his 2008 Suzuki motorcycle just north of Old Nichols Road when he crashed into the back of a Toyota Prius. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. and Reeves, of Bay Shore, was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Both passengers of the Prius were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. (Sachem Patch)
