- Sachem East students recognized for their outstanding work in hosting the annual Career Connection Event. The students in the Work Based Learning club led by business teacher William Ward were awarded certificates for their time and dedication to hosting the event. (Press Release Desk)
- ICYMI: Two former National Grid workers have been sentenced to prison for a kickback scheme. Patrick McCrann, 57, of Selden, and Richard Zavada, 65, of Hicksville were sentenced to one year and one day in prison, a $10,000 fine, and forfeiture of pay. They accepted hundreds of thousands in bribes and kickbacks over a period of several years. "This office will continue to root out corruption that undermines the integrity of competitive bidding in the procurement process", said Carolyn Pokorny, first Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. - May 6 Suffolk Arrest Report. The newest weekly arrest report from Suffolk County is now available. Take a look at all arrests throughout the county, and more specifically in the Town of Brookhaven. If you have information on a crime, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. A cash reward is often given when an arrest is made. (Patch)
