The median sale price for a single-family home in the 11751 ZIP code was about $515,000 from the beginning of October through the end of December, according to Redfin. That was 14 percent higher than the median price over the same period the previous year. Experts don't expect the housing market to slow down any time soon and expect fierce bidding on homes in 2022.   2. Man Charged In Knifepoint Robberies: PD. A Selden man has been charged in three Huntington Station robberies —two at knifepoint — over a week, Suffolk police said Friday. Kristian Falterman was arrested Thursday after an investigation by Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives and gang unit officers. He robbed Sugar Spine Spa twice in a week and Venom Smoke Shop once. (Sachem Patch)
  3. COVID-19 cases plummet 75% on Long Island. Gov. Kathy Hochul was on Long Island Friday and spoke about the sharp decrease in COVID-19 cases. Long Island, Hochul said, has seen a 75 percent drop in new cases, standing at 3,500, down from a peak of 14,000 on Jan. 2. "We've dropped significantly," she said. While the positivity rate on Long Island is still at about 11 percent, higher than the statewide average, it's down dramatically from its high of 27 percent, Hochul said. (Press Release Desk)
