Happy Friday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know going on today.

A Sachem teenager created a fitness trail aimed at youngsters for a Girl Scout project. A third Amazon Fresh supermarket is planned for LI, the first in Suffolk. And a Suffolk officer was indicted for falsely reporting the Christopher Cruz police beating incident.

  1. Peggy Spellman Hoey reports that a homicide investigation is underway in Coram, at a location on Middle Country Road. One report suggested a shooting occurred in the woods. (Patch)
  2. Michael Ebert talks to a Sachem student whose Girl Scout Gold Award project aims to help teenagers get healthy. Adriana Ancilleri is a a junior at Sachem High School East in Farmingville who created the Healthy Hearts for Happy Kids trail at the Holtsville Wildlife & Ecology Center. (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. Patch explains that a third Amazon Fresh market will be opening, this one in East Setauket. The checkout-free store will open in a former Waldbaum's. (Patch)
  4. News 12 reports that a Suffolk police officer from Commack was indicted for allegedly filing false information in a police report. Matthew Cameron made a false sworn statement when charging Christopher Cruz with resisting arrest back in February. Cameron is accused of being one of several officers punching and kicking Cruz. (News 12)
  5. The southbound lane of the Sagtikos State Parkway will be closed overnight in Islip on Friday between midnight and 5 a.m. for maintenance work. (Patch)
