🌱 Sachem Daily: Selden Woman Struck By Car + LI Photo Of The Day

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and mild. High: 57 low: 41.

Here are the top stories in Sachem today:

  1. Selden woman struck by car and killed in Coram Monday night. Elizabeth Martinez was walking on North Bicycle when she was struck by a man driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe at 7:35 p.m. She was transported to Stony Brook hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Long Island photo of the day. Did you enjoy the beautiful day like we did yesterday? Temperatures soared into the 60s and called for a beautiful sunset. Check out the Long Island photo of the day taken by Gib Chapman in Bayville. Talk about a perfect sunset! (Sachem Patch Facebook)
  3. ICYMI: Brookhaven Town to display "Sunflowers for Ukraine" art supporting Ukraine. The sunflower has become a flower representing support for Ukraine, and the Town of Brookhaven will be creating an exhibit led by artist Maureen Pouder. Councilman Jane Bonner was all for the idea and said, "Maureen's idea to have an art exhibit struck me as something that we needed to do. The resolve of the Ukrainians in the face of such a relentless attack from Russia is an inspiration to freedom-loving people all over the world. I encourage everyone to stop by to see the exhibit at Town Hall and show your support for the people of Ukraine." (Sachem Patch)
