- Town of Brookhaven Legislative Pet Food Drive a big success. The town collected 360 LBS of pet food and supplies in its 11th annual drive. The drive was held at seven locations this year, from March 21 to April 22. (Patch)
- Patchogue Beer Fest returns bigger and better this year. The second annual Spring Beer Fest will take place at Burgerology from 2 to 6 p.m. and now have 50 breweries for craft beer enthusiasts. "We have expanded the fest this year— we will be featuring many of your favorite local breweries and some regional favorites. Grab a commemorative cup and get to sampling any of over 50 confirmed breweries, distilleries and vendors," the event page reads. (Patch)
- ICYMI: Town of Brookhaven awarded 'Tree City USA' status by The Arbor Day Foundation. This is the seventh consecutive year the town has achieved the accomplishment. "Tree City USA status is achieved by meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrating Arbor Day."
