The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Hi all. It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily — here to explain everything you need to know about what's happening locally. Let's have at it.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and more humid. High: 81 low: 69.
Here are the top stories in Sachem today:
- Expect above average temperatures for the work week. We hope you enjoy your Monday off and are looking forward to a shorter work week. You will be welcomed back to blistering hot temperatures Tuesday, around 90 degrees. The rest of the week will still be above average for this time of year, but the good news is there's no rain in the forecast besides a slight chance Friday morning! (Weather.com)
- Proper way to fly the American Flag. Make sure you don't make the mistake of flying the flag in a way that doesn't respect our heroes who died for this country on Memorial Day. We thank each and every person who took the ultimate sacrifice for America. Click the link to learn the proper way to fly the American Flag. (Patch)
- ICYMI: Commack woman and mother-of-five killed in hit-and-run in Hauppauge. Cherokee Fletcher, 28, was killed Monday night when she was walking on the sidewalk of Motor Parkway. An accident occurred on the road, causing one car in the crash to exit the road and hit Fletcher, but the driver fled the scene. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Fletcher was walking to a nearby ATM to get money for her child's field trip. (Patch)
