Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Fog, then some sun. High: 74 low: 57.

Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:

  1. 2nd man dies from injuries in Holtsville LIE Service Road hit-and-run. Robert Kehlenbeck, of Selden, was pronounced dead Saturday morning, Suffolk police said. The driver is still on the loose and police are desperately seeking information to find them. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Weather report for the work week looks great. It seems that we skipped spring, as temperatures have been hot and humid all week. The weather will cool down and expect beautiful weather for your work week, with the only chance of rain on Monday afternoon. Temperatures will be in the high 60s to low 70s, with sunny skies all week. (Weather.com)
  3. ICYMI: $2.8 Billion project one step closer from coming to Ronkonkoma. On Thursday, the Long Island Regional Planning Council voted in Support of Midway Crossing which includes a sports arena, convention center, hotel, new terminal at MacArthur Airport, and more. The Town of Islip also backs the project. "Midway Crossing will be an innovative office research complex, dedicated to life sciences, along with a sports and entertainment venue, and a hotel and convention center, which will all be easily accessed by train, upgraded road systems and the airport", said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
