Good day, people of Sachem! Andrew Tessler here with a fresh Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Sachem today:

  1. Weekend weather report. The weather forecast is not looking too good for Mother's Day Weekend. Friday and Saturday we will have continuous rain for a period of 24 hours with temperatures only in the low 50s. Sunday morning will also be cold and wet, but we're hoping for some clearing and sunshine later in the day for you to enjoy Mother's Day. Overall, it will be a cold, wet, and windy weekend with the only chance of sun late Sunday. (Weather.com)
  2. ICYMI: Police found two dead at a Selden home. Police had been looking for Ian Saalfield, 45, who was reported missing on April 26 by his wife. On Tuesday night police were responding to a home on Hollywood Drive when they discovered two male bodies. Saalfield and the homeowner, 58-year-old Robert Julian, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating if the shooting was the result of a "drug trade." We will keep you updated on the ongoing investigation. (Sachem Patch)
