Sachem North Senior Lax Player Commits To Belmont Abbey

Sachem North senior Connor Harris has committed to play lacrosse in Division II competition at Belmont Abbey College.

Harris plays both football and lacrosse for the Flaming Arrows. A word of congratulations from Sachem North Head Coach Jay Mauro went out in an email blast earlier this week.

"Congratulations to Connor Harris," Mauro stated in the message. "We are very proud of him and very happy for him and his family. Keep up the great work."

The 5'10", 210-pound defenseman has seen his share of playoff action, both on the gridiron, and during North's second-round advance in last year's lacrosse tournament. His experience should prove to be an asset to a Belmont Abbey Crusaders team that went 5-11 last season.

Harris will play under newly minted head coach Chris Barrett, who was recently named the 2012 Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year.
