Other camps
-Kindercare Learning Center: 2270 N Ocean Ave, Farmingville: Part of a nationwide KinderCare chain, KinderCare Learning Center is a large day care, located just north of the Long Island Expressway on N. Ocean Avenue. KinderCare provides children with a safe learning environment and the opportunity to participate in a number of educational and developmental activities led by an experienced and certified staff.
-Brookhaven ROE YMCA: 155 Buckley Road Holtsville: Offering everything from summer camps for children of all ages to aquatic classes and gyms for older folks, the YMCA is always a happening place.
-Drama Kids of Northern Suffolk County : Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 307 Hawkins Ave., Ronkonkoma: The Drama Kids developmental drama program for Lower Primary provides young children (ages 6 to 8) with unique opportunities to develop clear speech, fluent delivery and pleasing social skills. Their program helps to give them the confidence to be participants in all aspects of their lives, able to ask questions, seek answers and share information with others. Children who mix well with others find it easier to make friends and adjust to new situations.
Parks & Recreation
-Holbrook Country Club: Enjoy golfing on an 18-hole course, baseball fields, handball courts, a play ground and tennis courts.
-Holtsville Ecology Center: Buckley Road, Holtsville: With a track, exercise course, ecology facility, pool and plenty to do, this place can keep you busy for hours.
-Lake Ronkonkoma Beach: 1 Lake Shore Dr, Lake Ronkonkoma: Lake Ronkonkoma is the largest lake on Long Island. When the Native Americans sold their land around the lake, they wanted to make sure that no one had sole control of the land surrounding the lake. The elevation of the lake surface is given as 55 feet on the most recent USGS map, but as the lake is a "groundwater lake," not fed by streams, it has no surface outlet and its water surface reflects the current level of the local water table. This can undergo significant changes over time and the lake level experiences slow periods of rise and fall. In the late 1960s it was quite low; after several intermediate changes in level, in 2007 the lake was higher than at any time since, with a difference of well over five feet between the 1960s low and the 2007 high.
-Morris Avenue Park: 1 Morris Ave, Farmingville: A small park tucked away in a residential neighborhood in Farmingville, the Morris Avenue Park houses baseball fields, basketball courts and swing sets.
-Raynor Beach County Park: Almost forgotten by Suffolk County government at one time, Raynor Beach County Park has become one of Lake Ronkonkoma's finest assets. The Park offers two playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, handball courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, picnic tables and walking trails. You can get there from the Long Island Expressway by taking exit 60 to Ronkonkoma Ave and heading north. The entrance is on the Left.
-Waverly Avenue Park: Hidden near College Rd. in Farmingville, Waverly Avenue Park is comprised of a few benches and swing sets. It's nothing elaborate, but the Town of Brookhaven runs and operates it.

Notes:
-In keeping with the ultra-hyper local journalism sense on this site, you'll rarely see news or information regarding towns outside of the Sachem community. However, in the hopes of drumming up ideas for local residents, Sachem Patch has been running occasional "DayCations from Sachem" columns about nearby locations to take day trips. Keep checking the site over the summer for more of these: Mitchell Park and Davis Park Ferry have been featured so far.
-This is a running document, meaning if you have ideas or other things available to add to this list, please contact Sachem Patch editor Chris Vaccaro at Chris@Patch.com.
