A look at the Top 10 academically ranked students at both Sachem North and East.

Sachem Patch is highlighting the top 10 ranking academic students at both Sachem North and Sachem East.
Today we have:
No. 9: Thomas Olson; Sachem North
College Choice: Boston College
Hometown: Holbrook
Favorite Teacher: While I have had many great teachers throughout my four years in Sachem North, two teachers have stuck out in particular. Mrs. Elizabeth Schlitt was my 10th grade Chemistry teacher, but she was more than a teacher to me. She was a friend, a mentor, and a second mother. She always pushed me to the best of my abilities and taught me to reach for my dreams. She was like a mother to me because she was always there when I needed her, she taught me life lessons, and opened herself up to all of her students. The other teacher is Mr. William Holl. Not only did I have the pleasure of having him as a teacher for 11th and 12th grade, but also as a coach for all four years of high school. Mr. Holl helped to get the best out of me in the classroom and on the track. He surely will be one of the reasons why leaving Sachem will be so hard for me.
Activities: Winter Track, Spring Track, Cross Country, Spanish Club, Relay for Life, etc...
Special Message: I'd like to thank my mom so much for all she has done for me. She has put her life aside every day in order to make my life better. She has always been there to support me and encourage me. She encouraged me to follow my dreams no matter the cost, and because of her I am following my dreams. No other person in the world could have done for me what she has done. She is the best mother anyone could ask for. I just want her to know that I love her and thank her for everything.
