Here are the top three stories today in Sachem:
- Sachem student-athletes commit to colleges. More than 30 students have committed to play athletics at the collegiate level. Students and their families wore apparel representing their future schools as they were congratulated by Sachem Athletic Director Gary Beutel and Assistant Athletic Director Philip Torregrosa. - Police looking for duo who stole adult novelties from Xpressions in Farmingville. The man and woman took off with $800 in merchandise on Dec. 2 and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. There is a clear photo of the duo in the link. (Sachem Patch)
- Police release video of driver inspecting car after fatal hit-and-run. Robert Twiford was struck after he got out of his parked his vehicle on the off-ramp of the eastbound Long Island Expressway at exit 60 on Dec. 5 at about 8 p.m. The driver of the vehicle is seen on video inspecting his car on Garrity Ave in Ronkonkoma and police say the vehicle is a light-colored, possibly gray, 2015 to 2018 Ford Focus hatchback (Sachem Patch)
