Police ID Victim In Fatal Long Island Hit-And-Run Crash
The woman was struck by a drunken driver early Sunday morning in Ronkonkoma, police say.
RONKONKOMA, NY — Suffolk police have released the identity of the pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Sunday as that of a 67-year-old Ronkonkoma woman.
Police say Adrienne Wagner was killed after she was struck by a 2005 Lexus RX330 driven by Wade Gagliano on Johnson Avenue, between Pine Avenue and Ocean Avenue, at about 1:30 a.m.
Wagner was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, said police, adding that Gagliano fled the scene and was found "a short time later," police said.

Major Case Unit detectives charged Gagliano, 23, Ronkonkoma, with leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death and driving while intoxicated. He will be held overnight at the 4th Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
