Suffolk Police Investigate Lake Ronkonkoma Area Burglaries
Dunkin,' Gino's Pizzeria, and IHOP on Portion Road were broken into in about a half hour over March 20 - 21, cops say.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Six businesses were broken into since last Sunday in Lake Ronkonkoma and the surrounding area.
In the first burglary, a glass door was broken at Mei Wei Chinese Restaurant on Grand Avenue in Holbrook at about 2 a.m. on Sunday.
In the nearby hamlet of Lake Ronkonkoma, a burglar or burglars broke in three businesses on Portion Road within about a half hour. The drive-thru window at Dunkin' was broken at about 11:35 p.m. but nothing was taken, then about five minutes later at 11:40 p.m., a rock was thrown through a window and cash was stolen from Gino's Pizzeria.

In the final burglary, a window was broken and cash was stolen from IHOP just after midnight on Monday morning.
Just down Portion Road in Holbrook, the front door was broken at Gift Cards and Lotto at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

About eight hours later at 10:30 a.m., a glass door was broken and cash and a register were taken from China Wok on Long Island Avenue in Holtsville.
It's not only businesses that were broken into over the past week.
The rear door of a home on Holbrook Road in Centereach was broken into and jewelry was stolen at about 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
It's not clear if the burglaries are being investigated in connection with a series of area burglaries from the fall and earlier this year.
There were about 12 smash-and-grabs in the area back in October. One arrest has been in connection with five burglaries in January.
