The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Hi all. It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in our community today. Today's briefing includes updates on...

  • Check out who's hiring this week in the Sachem area.
  • Third annual 'Brookhaven Recycles Day' contest begins today.
  • A Holbrook man wanted by police was nabbed Sunday in Southhampton.

But first, today's weather:

Partial sunshine. High: 48 low: 43.

Here are the top four stories in Sachem today:

  1. Pets are available for adoption at local shelters. Take a look at these adorable animals up for adoption at Sachem area shelters. Meet Harlow, Peky and more this week. If you see a potential pet that catches your eye, click on their picture to learn more about them and consider adopting today. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Check out who's hiring this week in the Sachem area. In our weekly collaboration with ZipRecruiter, you can check out all the companies hiring locally in and around town. If you see a job that interests you, click on it for more information and apply! (Sachem Patch)
  3. A Holbrook man wanted by police was nabbed Sunday in Southhampton. Timothy Butler, 46, was wanted in connection with a domestic dispute when he fled in a 2014 Ram pickup. Southhampton Town Police were alerted in multiple calls of a truck matching the description of Butler's in the area. Butler drove through the gates of Gibson Beach and was arrested. His charges have not been released pending an investigation. (Sachem Patch)
  4. The third annual 'Brookhaven Recycles Day' contest begins today. The contest will run through Tuesday, Dec. 6 and six lucky winners, one from each Council District, will be selected to win a compost tumbler valued at $70. "To enter the "Brookhaven Recycles Day" contest, residents must "LIKE" the Town of Brookhaven's Facebook page and CURBY Facebook page, then share the post and pledge to recycle. The contest is open to Brookhaven residents only. Go to www.BrookhavenNY.gov/Contest for complete contest details and to enter." (Press Release Desk)
