🌱 Warmer Weather Ahead + Steam Room Serving Free Thanksgiving Dinner

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, everybody! It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening locally, including:

  • Weather to warm up just in time for Thanksgiving.
  • The Steam Room to serve free Thanksgiving dinner.
  • ICYMI: Pets are seeking homes at the Brookhaven Town Shelter.

But first, today's weather:

Very windy; cold. High: 38 low: 22.

Here are the top stories today in Sachem:

  1. More weather changes ahead this week. We hope you are staying warm out there as temperatures barely reach 40 degrees today. The good news is this week brings much warmer weather, with temperatures set to be in the 50s again by Wednesday. Thursday will hover right above 50 degrees for your Thanksgiving and Friday brings the only chance of rain with sunny skies forecasted all week. (Weather.com)
  2. The Steam Room to serve free Thanksgiving dinner. The Port Jefferson restaurant will be serving the meals from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday and the free food is available to anyone who wants a meal, not just those in need. (Patch)
  3. ICYMI: Pets are seeking homes at the Brookhaven Town Shelter. The Town of Brookhaven is celebrating its "Home for the Holidays" promotion with no adoption fees through the end of December. The town sent out a plea to residents that pets need a home not just for the holidays but for all the days in between. You can stop by the shelter in person or click the link for more information.
