'We Are Sachem' Rally Scheduled For Tomorrow

Massive community event scheduled in connection with decreasing state aid to the district.

The Sachem School District will be holding its "We Are Sachem" rally tomorrow in an effort celebrate the school's spirit and tradition, as well as send a message to Albany about the school's need for more state aid.

The rally will be highlighted with presentations from guests of the district and students. New York State plans to siphon away $2 million in state aid to the district, representing the equivalent aid given to the district back in 2005, according to school offials. The district's 2013-14 budget predicts a $26 million deficit. 

The rally begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Sachem High School North and will include:
