As Long Island Champions, the Sachem East Varsity Arrowettes proudly represented their high school at the National Dance Alliance competition this past weekend in Orlando, Florida. This talented group of dancer-athletes competed agains top notch varsity dance teams from all over the United States. After the preliminary rounds on Saturday, they ranked among the highest in all divisions and quickly advanced to the finals in all four dances. This provided them the opportunity compete against the most elite and premiere varsity dance teams from all over the nation. After an intense final national competition on Sunday, their emotional Jazz routine received a 5th place national trophy and the upbeat Team performance ranked third in the nation. The intense Batman themed Hip Hop number earned a second place trophy, and the Phantom of the Opera High Kick performance was edged out of first place by 8/100 of a point, earning them the National 2nd place trophy. The competition was fierce and the talent of competing schools was like no other. Congratulations to SEVA, their coaches, and choreographers!
