- Selden spa shut down and given 20 summonses. A woman was caught giving an unlicensed massage and was arrested at 692 A Spa on Middle Country Rd. The quality-of-life raid came after numerous complaints from the community. (Sachem Patch)
- Police cracking down on school-zone traffic violations. Suffolk police issued over 430 violations for traffic infarctions and 315 moving violations during the first two weeks of school. The violations included speeding, distracted driving, and failure to yield to pedestrians, in and around school zones during the county's Back-To-School Safe Driving Enforcement Initiative, department officials said Tuesday.
