Suffolk Spa Shut Down, Woman Charged In Quality-Of-Life Raid: Police
A worker was charged with unauthorized practice of a profession and 20 summonses were issued, Suffolk police said.

SELDEN, NY — A Selden spa, where a woman was caught performing a massage without a license and arrested, was issued 20 summonses and shut down on Monday, Suffolk police said.
Police said 692 A Spa on Middle Country Road was investigated for quality-of-life complaints, including prostitution, at about 3 p.m., according to police. It was part of a joint investigation between 6th Precinct Crime Section officers, as well as Brookhaven Town investigators, the Building Inspector and Fire Marshal's office.

The woman was charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a felony, and she will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date, police said.

It was the second such raid in the past few days within the 6th Precinct.
