2 Ejected After BMW Flips On Sunrise Highway In Bayport: Police
A BMW struck the center median and overturned in Bayport, ejecting both people inside, Suffolk police say.
BAYPORT, NY — A Shirley man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when the BMW he was driving crashed and overturned on Sunrise Highway in Bayport, Suffolk County police said.
Mario Auer, 25, was driving a 2022 BMW eastbound on Sunrise Highway, just west of Nicolls Road, when he lost control of the vehicle, struck the center median and overturned at about 1:10 p.m., police said.
Auer and his passenger, Caitlyn Rose Lovelock, 28, of Mastic Beach, were both ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Auer was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Lovelock was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue with minor injuries, police said.
The BMW was impounded for a safety check.
