77-Year-Old Sayville Business To Potentially Move Out Of State
The store owner confirmed to Patch that the building for the local business is currently up for sale.

SAYVILLE, NY - A 77-year-old Sayville business might be moving to Florida, according to the store's owner. Island Fish Net and Supply Co., located on 142 Railroad Avenue, was recently seen with a "for sale" sign on the front window.
The owner, Elizabeth Macdonald, confirmed to Patch that the building is on the market. Macdonald and her husband are planning on moving to Florida but don't know where or when yet.
The two took over the business, which opened in 1942, in the 70's. Now Macdonald says its time for them to move on since business is not the same as it used to be on Long Island.

"We've been here a long time and we've had a lot of great customers but it's just time to go," she said.
However, the two don't have a set date to move the business as they are planning on waiting until the storefront is sold.

Some residents have taken to social media to express their sadness at the local business potentially moving away. Macdonald said she don't expect the "hoopla" when putting the business up for sale.
"We've enjoyed it and I like my customers, I've known some of them for generations," Macdonald said.
