Community Update

Sayville schools announces their request for a 5.59% tax increase for the upcoming budget. Why are we one of only 5 districts trying to pierce the tax cap? Maybe because our district which has been telling us the last few years what a great job they did managing our money has actually over spent cut to little and used up all our reserve funds. We now have the distinction of being one of the highest proposed increases. Does that help your property value. I know we need a good school district but I also know we can't afford this increase or any more increases. Families are leaving. Business is leaving. The school board needs to reduce this budget not increase it.
