First graders at Academy Street Elementary School recently celebrated the 50th day of the school year with “’50s Day,” donning their finest poodle skirts and leather jackets. Some of the day’s activities included counting to 50 by 5’s and 10’s and writing about their favorite parts of the first 50 days of school while listening to music from the 1950s.
